On Sunday of the Away Weekend, 26 Ramblers went to Hengistbury Head and walked with a head on wind to the Nature Reserve, the home of the Natter Jack Toad only one of 2 places in the UK where it can be found.
The group crossed the fast flowing outlet of Christchurch Harbour on the Mudeford Ferry, dodging the sea spray from a very high spring tide. The walk continued to Highcliffe Castle, were they were entertained by a dog show and various stalls
The return route retraced their steps back to the Ferry and then took the lower road passing the Information Centre were they had a camera on a Herons Nest with 5 eggs in.
