Cirencester Ramblers

July 18th Bishopstone & The Ridgeway

Thirteen members members met up at the pub in Bishopstone on a pleasant summer’s evening and as it was a “John Bookwood walk” took the wrong turning out of the car park and ended up doing the whole walk backwards!

We followed a path to the nearby village of Idstone where we turned uphill to reach the Ridgeway, with glorious views toward Swindon and Shrivenham, and returning to the start via a picturesque, steep sided valley and a circuit of the village pond with its beautiful thatched cottages.
