Cirencester Ramblers

May 31st Eastleach

On Thursday 31st May 10 members set off from the Victoria Inn, Eastleach on a 4.5 mile walk. After a short walk through the village and past the Grade I listed church of St. Michael & St. Martin (no longer used for worship) we made our way up the River Leach valley until we reached the Roman road called Akeman Street.

After a short break with views along the River Leach valley we descend to the valley floor and made our way back along the valley to Eastleach. During the walk we encountered herds of cows and their calves and sheep with their lambs. After the walk we had a drink and lunch in the Victoria Inn.
