On September 24th 9 members set off from Minster Lovell for an 8 mile circular walk on a lovely sunny day. From the Wash Meadow car park they turned left over the bridge and began a steep climb up the hill. The route continued through fields to reach the main road. After crossing they carried on past the Witney Lakes Resort Golf Club. A little way ahead they had a coffee break, before continuing to reach and cross the Brize Norton road and head towards Worsham.
Eventually they reached the pretty village of Asthall and the 12C church of St Nicholas where they stopped for lunch. Behind the church is Asthall Manor, the 17C manor house once home to the Mitford sisters.
Leaving this beautiful village they walked beside the River Windrush to return to Minster Lovell pausing to view the ruins of Minster Lovell Hall, a 15C manor house.
