On 11th December 25 members and one guest set off from the Waterloo car park for a 4 mile wander around Cirencester, prior to their Christmas lunch at the Royal Agricultural University. Crossing by the Waggon and Horses pub they went along footpath to the old grammar school field. After pausing to admire one the hares on the Hare Trail they continued to City Bank Glade and turned right to meet the brown hare. Crossing the new bridge “with no name” by the Nursery Nature site and passing the allotments, they entered Southgate Mews and City Bank road to FoxSeat.
After continuing on the higher City Bank footpath they reached Godsell’s Mill. Going over the main road on a footbridge they eventually reached the old railway line and Hare Bushes. Continuing on the walk they reached the Abbey Grounds via the Norman arch and back to the start.
They then drove to the University to join other members for the Christmas lunch.
