On Sunday 30th October 23 walkers took part in an 8 mile walk from Elkstone, including 2 members from the Forest of Dean and one from Brockworth, plus 1 guest. Skirting round the village they passed the church and walked out onto a track towards the A419, coming back through fields to Cowley Wood and Harcombe Bottom.
They continued onto Cockleford, passing Cockleford Farm, Trout Farm, Butlers Hill Farm, Butlers Farm and Penhill Farm. Picking up the white road and track to Sparrowthorn they reached a lovely unspoilt valley, where lunch was taken on the grass banks. The return route heading back to the start was via Hillclose Grove, Lions Grove, the village hall and back to the cars.
