Cirencester Ramblers

July 24th Andoversford

On a warm overcast Sunday, 5 members and 2 guests met in Andoversford for a challenging 10 mile walk. Firstly we headed to Upper Dowdeswell and viewed an old  well, continuing along a track to turn left up to the A436. We crossed over to the Kilkenny view point and looked back over towards Cheltenham and the stunning view of the Malvern Hills.

We carried on up the road for a short distance and then decided to take a break. After a quick cup of tea we carried walking through several fields towards Withington woods, making our way to the local church for lunch. On leaving the church, photographs were taken underneath the tunnel. We carried on over several small fields, reaching the steepest point of the walk just outside Withington. On approach to the A40 we crossed over and entered Shipton Ollife and then made our way back down to the start/finish location in Andoversford.
