A Walking Group needs plenty of Walks Leaders.
Cirencester is surrounded by beautiful countryside and there are endless possibilities for short or long walks. In our Area, the walks can be Leisurely, Moderate or Strenuous due to the varied terrain. Many of our walks incorporate an option to conclude the walk with a meal or drink at a public house or cafe near to the End Point
If you are interested in leading a walk for the first time, the Group provide help and training. Please ask any of the Program Secretaries:
Rosemary Bailey (March to June Program)
Bob Scott and Eve Finch (July to October Program)
Phil Gearing (November to February Program)
The Group has a comprehensive Walks Leader Guide to assist Walk Leaders and Backmarkers to plan and lead a walk. To view the Guide, click here
A Walk Leaders Checklist, which includes First Aid Advice, is given to each Walk Leader. It is on a folded laminated card and easily fits into a jacket pocket. To view the Checklist, click here
Finally,in the unlikely event of an incident occurring on one of our walks, Central Office asks that you complete one of their report forms. The reason is to get a better understanding of the problems that occur on rambles and learn lessons that could be feedback to others in the form of guidance and training. To obtain the form in PDF format click here
Alternatively to obtain the form as the word document, goto The Ramblers Website and, using the Search box in the top right hand corner, search for Incident Report Form. The first article in the Search results is the form as a Word document, which can be completed electronically and emailed to our Group Secretary
Please send the completed form to our Secretary, and she will ensure it is passed onto Central Office.
