On Saturday 7th May we gathered at St Lawrence Hall, Cirencester to solve the mystery of "A Chilled Murder". The evening was organised for us by Howard Gray from Stratton Players who, along with his wife Rosemary, played two of the roles in this radio style play. The remaining nine roles were undertaken by our own members. As the play progressed each team gathered the clues, with lots of red herrings along the way to distract and confuse our deliberations. Not even the cast knew who did the murder, except of course for Howard who was the victim and wrote the play. The final act was revealed to them just before the second half.
At the interval we enjoyed a "Bring and Share Supper" while Howard checked the conclusion that each team had come to. After the break Detective Inspector Ivor Case pointed out to us the clues and named the murderer, which two of the teams guessed correctly.
Many thanks go to Howard and Rosemary Gray and to our cast of Karen S, Karen A, Halina, Shirley, Marian, John, Bill, Steve and Paul for a fun evening. Also to the 36 members and guests in the audience who supported the event.
